Products I recommend

When it comes to gear, I generally recommend a 'buy once, cry once' approach. In many cases, the budget options have reliability and functional issues. Skip those pains if the budget allows.

The Echo RB-60 has been my go-to spreader for quite a while. While it can struggle to get the last bit of product onto the lawn, I consider this its only disadvantage. The large hopper, pneumatic wheels, and overall build quality make it a very solid spreader.

When it comes to sprayers, I own the Field King 190515 and have been happy with it, although better options have come out recently. For now, I am not going to recommend one specific product, as many factors play into choosing a specific sprayer. In general, I would recommend a 4 gallon battery powered backpack sprayer. This should be enough to cover a variety of yard sizes for applications of herbicide, fungicide, and anything else.

Two active ingredients run this section:
Propiconazole (Quali-Pro and BioAdvanced) and azoxystrobin (Artavia and DiseaseEx). They attack fungus in different ways, so alternating between them from one application to the next helps keep diseases from building resistance to either. Propiconazole also has curative strength, meaning it can treat an infection that's already active, while azoxystrobin works best preventatively, applied before disease shows or at the first sign.

When it comes to application method, a liquid sprays straight onto the grass blades, which suits foliar diseases and acts faster. Granular applications are watered in to reach the roots, which can be better for a slow-release, more preventative approach, along with the added convenience of using a spreader.
